And do the colors mean anything? there mostly blue but a few are a burgandy color

Those are given out by the YA team, for that person's #1 slot bonus. If a person has multiple #1 slots (like me, #1 in Yahoo Answers, #1 in Yahoo Products), then I believe they might get a different color, but I don't know how many you need to have to get that. If you put the mouse over the frame, the blue one's will pop-up a tiny "expert" bubble. They used to also post on the person's answers, as well, but not any more.
