Not all backgrounds, but from many different ones. I've worked in a few different countries and often on very multicultural teams. So, what's your question other than this?
I do have friends and family from other racial backgrounds. For me race had never been an issue. The biggest prob I have with people is a lack of morals and values no matter what the race.
I'm Korean. My boyfriend is black. Most of my friends are white. I tend to get along well with Peruvians, Salvadoreans, and Filipinos. I know one guy who is half Laos and half Salvadorean. I'm not friends with many Middle Easterners, but I knew of some cool ones that were in my classes.
Many cultures, yes, so!!
I have many friends whom are black, and hispanic. All my friendships are based on mutual respect.
oh yes!!! yes, yes, yes!! i have gay friends, straight friends, friends who are unsure, some who are asian, hispanic, african american, middle eastern, american, italian, english, and from all kinds of different spiritual beliefs and financial backgrounds. also, different ages and different points in all of our lives. my daughter who is half thai and half filipino has a caucasian stepfather and my half sister is thai and japanese, and i also dated all kinds of folks! oh dear, the world is so big and i can't imagine only bein' 'round folks who were just like me. ooh, not very fun!!
yes. there is a family I'd trust my life with from Africa...just saw them in England...deep love...ancestral I suppose...BF is half asian....
Yes, I do. I think that I can honestly say that I have, at one point or another, had at least one friend from every racial/ethnic background that you can imagine.
I'm very open to the cultures of others and I'm a better person for it.
Yes in my family we have Australian, Dutch, Yugoslav, Austrian Aboriginal and Irish. Very muticultural. We all respect one another and get on fine.
in my life i had friends from the States (Afro and natives),
England, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Brazil (Afro-Brazilians and "european-descendents), Ecuador, Venezuela, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Africa, Croatia, Turkey...and much much more......i have to say, and admit, that i have been very lucky in my life...when it came to "racial" as you say, inter-changes....all nations, all cultures and all kind of languages....to be open, to other cultures is a great ability in someone...and eveybody should open themself more, for the variety of life and people....
i am lucky enough, to live in a city, where different cultures (dont like the word "race" so much) have a great place to express themselves....i live in Hamburg, Germany...!
and everything i have learned about different cultures, i have learned here, by and with the People...!
No, I don't have a lot of friends from various racial backgrounds. Though, I do have family members from different racial backgrounds but we are not necessarily close. I am open minded to other cultures and people who are also open minded.
I have one black friend and that's it. Otherwise all my acquaintances are white. You aren't implying that people with few friends outside of their race are racist, are you?
Nope. My friends are white. My co workers are predominately white( those who are not are almost all asian). My family is white. These people tend to share my values, standards, morals and beliefs more so then any one of a different race or culture has, thus far.
Yes from almost every culture I can think of and yes I'm open minded. I also enjoy different points of views. I appreciate the fact that we aren't all the same. Every culture has something significant and its interesting to learn about the various differences and commonalities we share. My life is more fulfilling with variety in it. I'd be bored to death if I only associated with people who looked, thought, acted and were basically clones of myself.
Very boring indeed.
